In conflict with itself.

It is funny and meaningful. It is engaging and tragic. There’s silliness to the heaviness. There’s reality within the absurd. These dualities resonate within each moment of Almost Family. At least that was my take when pitching this project. But, my job: Find a way to compliment those dualities within a brief main title. Working directly with show creator, Annie Weisman and EP, Jason Katims - I convinced them to allow typography and color do do all the work.

Main Title / In Context

Typography explo.
Considering the assembled nature of the primaries’ sisterhood, it seems like one or both words of the title could subtlety reflect that quality. Perhaps stencil letterforms? Or maybe the animation/arrival of the title will take on this quality be piecing the logo together artfully.
